Fantasy |
The combination of the Film and Fiber really allows the image to "puff" up
Materials Needed:
• Fantasy Film your choice of color • Fantasy Fiber your choice of color • Glass Beads: assortment of large and small • Baker’s parchment paper • Barbara's Spring Moth rubberstamp • Permanent ink pad: black • Teflon coated Iron set to medium-high heat • Designer Dries Clear Adhesive with Ultrafine Metal Tip attached • Scissors Directions: Ink stamp with black ink. Set stamp on table with inked rubber side up. Cut two pieces of film to cover stamp (can be different colors). Put one piece on top of stamp. (To conserve film, don't center it on stamp, but place towards top of film.) Pull out enough fiber to cover stamp and place it gently on top of film without moving film. Place other piece of film on top of fiber bed. Again, without moving the first layer of film, cover film and fiber layers with baker’s parchment paper. Press with iron for 3 seconds on the entire surface of stamp. Too much dwell time will burn the film. Peel image off stamp surface. With stamped surface facing up, apply glue and glass beads as desired. Let dry for several hours. Cut closely around moth image up to, but not including black lines. Cut between wings on both sides up to thorax. Curve each wing around your finger and bend slightly to make them lifelike. For variety try placing Fantasy Fiber on stamp first with Film on back. Experiment with a variety of colors for an endless assortment of lovely Spring Moths! To maximize the use of your Film and Fiber re-use left over pieces cut from moth images and cover inked stamp as above, overlapping pieces slightly to make a multi colored moth!
